The six accessions given to the Institute Archives by Carroll Wilson from 1979 to 1983 were integrated into the present arrangement, maintaining Wilson's folder titles and original order when possible. No re-ordering was done within the folders. Scope and Contents of the Collection
The curricula collection of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology consists of bound course notes, including reading lists and problem sets, for the years 1952-1989. Scope and Contents of the Collection
The Department of Nuclear Engineering was established at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on July 1, 1958. However, study of Nuclear Engineering at MIT began as early as 1935. In 2000, the department developed the Center for Advanced Nuclear Engineering Systems along with the MIT Energy Laboratory (later renamed the MIT Energy Initiative).
