Scope and Contents of the Collection

The records of the Massasachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Office of the Treasurer contain the choronological file of outgoing correspondence from the Treasurer's Offices relating to the financial affairs of MIT while Joseph J. Snyder was Treasurer, 1949-1975. Also included are correspondence and contracts concerning the ownership of property given to MIT by business and individuals between the years 1897 and 1941. Box 7 is undescribed.

This collection contains records of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Office of the Treasurer created between 1883 and 1971. Included are ledgers and other accounting records of MIT's investments. It also contains records of department expenditures of general and special funds.

Scope and Contents This collection contains financial statements created by the treasurers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) including trial and final balances, estimates of property value, summaries of accounts kept by the treasurer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in its early years when its campus was in Boston's Back Bay area.
