Project Whirlwind Memo M-2350. Memorandum on procurement of components for the XD-1.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-2258. The committee met June 19, at MIT. Components Application Memos #1, #2, #3A, #3C, and #8, pf the Electronics Components Committee were approved in substance but are to be rewritten by IBM into an easily usable form.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-1920. Two meetings, one on mechanical design of the general purpose plug in unit for WWII, and one on joint MIT-IBM component standards were held Tuesday, March 3; and one on drafting procedures was held on Wednesday, March 4. A number of proposals were made at the March 3 meetings. Final Decision on the plug in unit design will await construction of models and further proposal drawings, both due about May 1.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-2363. The 4th Meeting of the MIT-IBM Central Standards Committee was held Friday, Aug. 14, 1953 at MIT. IBM Representatives were N. Edwards and J. Goetz. MIT Representatives were C. Watt, K. Olsen, and W. Papian.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-2172. Minutes of a Joint MIT-IBM Components Subcommittee Meeting held at MIT on Monday and Tuesday, May 11 and 12. The work consisted of a review of the sheets prepared at the last meeting and a presentation of proposals on electrolytic capacitors, tube sockets, crystal diodes, and pulse transformers.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-1952. Minutes of a Joint MIT-IBM Components Subcommittee Meeting held at Poughkeepsie, with Goetz, Stone, Slonaker, Lawrence, Johnson, Rudman and Fuegel from IBM; and Paine and Watt from MIT. The discussions covered deposited carbon and composition resistors and resulted in the preparation of Application Memos numbers 1 and 2.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-2241. Memorandum on the establishment of a Joint Central Standards Committee for the purpose of giving final approval to the standards sheets issued by the sub-committees, and of deciding the scope and priorities of the various standards projects.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-2213. An agreement has been reached with IBM as to the make-up and organization of the Joint MIT-IBM Standards Committee. The organization and responsibilities of these committees are described on the attached sheets.
Project Whirlwind Memo M-2217. A meeting of the Joint IBM-MIT Standards Committee on Materials and Processes, held June 4 at M.I.T., agreed on certain soldering and wiring methods. The area of agreement was wide, and the following text outlines what was decided by the committee. This memo is a proposal. Its contents should be criticized by both MIT and IBM personnel, and criticisms given to Edwards of IBM or Watt of MIT by Friday, June 19, so that final standards can be issued shortly.

MIT DIC 6889. Project Whirlwind Memo M-1740. About one full working day was spent discussing component and production problems with the members of the Vacuum Tube Analysis Lab and with shop personnel. Emphasis was placed on trying to decide what phases of component study should be undertaken first, for maximum mutual benefit. IBM inspection and test techniques were studied.
