Baumrucker, William
Biographical Note
William Baumrucker, S.B. in architecture, 1929, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was a structural designer for airplanes at Curtiss Wright for several years, then turned to the newspaper business. He was chair of a committee established by the American Newspaper Publishing Association to set up a research laboratory to improve printing methods and equipment. The Mechanical Research Laboratory, established with advice from MIT Professor of Electrical Engineering Vannevar Bush, produced many innovative devices and procedures later used in the printing and publishing industry.
