Black Alumni/ae of MIT website provides general information about the organization, a brief history, and a listing of events. Black Alumni/ae of MIT (BAMIT) was established in 1979. Its purpose is to serve as a resource and provide support to Black students, faculty, and staff at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and to serve as a communication network for alumni/ae.

This site was selected for capture as it documents information about Black alumni, where they are today, and reflections on their time on campus. It also includes information on interactions between BAMIT and current students. This information will increase the representation of Black people in the Distinctive Collections and fits with the Libraries' social justive mission. Captured as a quarterly crawl.
