Scope and Contents
MIT DIC 6345. Project Whirlwind Report R-193-v-2. This cover contains a selection of diagrams and memorandums from the reports that have been written about the Whirlwind I electronic computer. This material has been assembled for general reference use by people interested in applications of the computer. Volume 1 contains reproductions of a series of posters that present a simplified elementary picture of the computer, its operation, and some of its applications; two memorandums that list Project reports on mathematics and on applications; and three memorandums on the insertion of information into the computer, the use of subroutines, and a description of one display program. Volume 2 contains a short guide to coding, a longer memorandum on coding, and a supplement to the latter.
