Scope and Contents of the Collection

Records received in 1983, boxes 1-3, 1978-1983, contain files which reflect the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Industrial Liaison Program's (ILP) domestic and international activities. Records include correspondence; minutes of staff meetings; and materials on ILP sponsored Senior Executive Symposia. Also includes correspondence pertaining to James D. Bruce's involvement in MIT committees including the Ad Hoc Committee on the Secondary Technical Project.

Records received in 1987, boxes 4-5, 1979-1983, include chronological correspondence of ILP director James D. Bruce.

Records received in 1989, box 6, 1987, consist of six video tapes produced by the ILP titled "Computer Aided Design Laboratory," "A Dextrous Robot Hand," "MIT's Design Center," "Project Athena," "Project Athena Cats," and "Prototype of Flexible Assembly Cell."

Records received in 1990, boxes 7-11, 1974-1989, contain correspondence and reports documenting the domestic and international activities of the ILP, including correspondence regarding chief executive dinners from 1983-1986; correspondence between the ILP and foreign governments and industries, 1977 1988; annual reports, 1979-1984; and general information about the ILP, such as fee structuring and marketing.

Records received in 1992, boxes 12-13, 1979-1982, include correspondence, memoranda, and agendas concerning promotional meetings with representatives of industry in Europe, Japan, and Venezuela.

Publications by the program were added to the collection in 2020 and include monthly publication lists and the MIT Report.

The collection also includes an archived version of the ILP website.
