Biographical / Historical
Lisa Steiner is professor emerita in the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).She was a professor of immunology and the first woman faculty member (1967) to join the Department of Biology faculty. Among research projects are those where she analyzed the zebrafish genome to understand white blood cells and their role in the immune system.
