Historical Note
The MIT Libraries' Department of Distinctive Collections began a COVID-19 collecting initiative in May 2020 to document how the MIT community was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. All members of the MIT community (students, staff, faculty, researchers, alumni, and others) were invited to contribute materials documenting their experiences, reactions, and responses.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The Department of Distinctive Collections began accepting contributions to its COVID-19 collecting initiative in May 2020. New materials will be added to this collection as they are received.
