Historical Note
The Association of Alumni and Alumnae of MIT is an independent association of graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The Association was formed in 1875, seven years after the first class of students graduated. The Association is currently governed by a 23 member Board of Directors. The executive vice president of the association is employed by the Board of Directors of the Association with the concurrance of the president of MIT. The executive vice president is recognized by MIT as the senior staff officer at the Institute for alumni/ae.
