Historical Note
The Committee on Academic Responsibilty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was established to review community values in connection with the conduct of academic research, to review MIT policies and procdures in connection with research in view of community values, and to suggest innovative educational programs related to the conduct of academic research. (MIT News Office, September 11, 1991 release)
The committee was composed of faculty Sheila Widnall (chair), Morris Halle, Jerome I. Friedman, Richard Mulligan, and Gerald N. Wogan.
