Historical Note

The Comparative Media Studies (CMS) program is a graduate program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is part of Comparative Media Studies/Writing, a humanities section within the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Launched in 1999, the department focuses on the critical study, design, and creation of media and writing.
