Biography

Herman Paul Meissner, 1907-1990, S.B. 1929, S.M. 1930, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); D.Sc. 1938, University of Frankfort am Main, was an instructor at MIT in business and engineering administration, 1934-1935, and in chemical engineering, 1938-1940. He was appointed assistant professor of chemical engineering in 1940; associate professor in 1943; and professor in 1951. He was Lammot duPont Professor of Chemical Engineering, 1970-1973, then professor emeritus. His work focused on thermodynamics and industrial chemistry.
