Biography

Bernard Sidney Gould, 1911-1987, S.B. 1932, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Ph.D. in biochemistry, 1934, University of London, joined the faculty of the Department of Biology and Public Health of MIT as a lecturer in 1934, became assistant professor in 1938, associate professor in 1943, and professor in 1969. His research focused on the biochemistry of wound healing, tissue regeneration, and the role of vitamins in these processes; and on the mechanism of action of antibacterial agents.
