Scope and Contents of the Collection

The collection consists of a 50-minute interview with Philip Morrison conducted by David Suzuki on November 23, 1981, for the Canadian Broadcasting Company program The Nature of Things. Topics discussed in the interview include Morrison's early interest in physics and his work on the Manhattan Project to build an atomic bomb during World War II, his account of the first atomic bomb test at Los Alamos, wartime military intelligence work, and his participation in the army's mission to Japan after the Japanese surrender in 1945. There is a transcript of the interview.
