Notes: Includes images of ancient and medieval monuments, such as the pyramids at Giza, Timurid shrines at Gazur Gah, the Umayyad Mosque of Damascus, the Mustansiriyya Madrasa in Baghdad, the Khan Mirjan in Baghdad, the Khan Nusf outside Karbala', Abbasid monuments of Samarra, as well as residential architecture in Jeddah, Sana'a, and Mosul. Images of Iraq Marshes (al-Ahwar), as well as indigenous/handed-down traditions of architecture (عمارة تحدارية) in Basra and Baghdad are shown with impressions of cylinder seals and images of brickmaking in Iraq.
