The collection comprises records created by the Office of the Senior Vice President at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The materials, which span the tenures of the Vice President for Operations Philip A. Stoddard and Senior Vice President William R. Dickson, date from 1956 to 1998.

This collection contains records of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Office of the Treasurer created between 1883 and 1971. Included are ledgers and other accounting records of MIT's investments. It also contains records of department expenditures of general and special funds.

Scope and Contents This collection contains financial statements created by the treasurers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) including trial and final balances, estimates of property value, summaries of accounts kept by the treasurer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in its early years when its campus was in Boston's Back Bay area. Scope and Contents of the Collection From the Collection:

The records of the Massasachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Office of the Treasurer contain the choronological file of outgoing correspondence from the Treasurer's Offices relating to the financial affairs of MIT while Joseph J. Snyder was Treasurer, 1949-1975. Also included are correspondence and contracts concerning the ownership of property given to MIT by business and individuals between the years 1897 and 1941. Box 7 is undescribed.
