This collection contains a notebook created by Josiah Vincent Meigs, including sketches and notes related to various of his inventions including sketches of cartridges and guns produced by the United States Cartridge Company in Lowell, Massachusetts; and sketches of railway chairs and couplings later used as part of the Meigs Elevated Railway (built in the 1880s).
